Kwango Festival the 14 - 21 of June 2021 sponred by the Queen
A beautiful festival with music, dance, theater, art and conferences!
Organized irregularly every two or three years. Today the trend would be to make it a traveling festival responsible for conveying the art and culture of the country. The origin dates back to 1925. At the time it was called "Luvidi" which is a Pende term meaning "spectacle, games, festivity". The Pende artists gathered in Gungu every July 21 to commemorate the Belgian National Day. This commemoration was interrupted in 1960 and resumed in 1998 with Kibala Malungi of the association "Art Secret Pende".
